I moved from the Amazfit Trex2 to the Garmin Epix Gen 2. The features, materials, Garmin Connect and the sensors are better hands down, but the general feel of the interface, especially the buttons, are not. My "up" button is not sticky, but mushy. Not clicky whatsoever, I have the sensation of pushing the button with the slightest touch.
However it now is unresponsive, randomly vibrates, and the buttons don't seem to work. I've done a factory reset and hard reset but nothing seems to work instead it leaves me stuck on a reset message with yes or no pressing either just puts it back to the same screen.

When you finish your lap or whatever it is your doing, hold your wrist out of the water and push whatever buttons you need. I just press em all, no problems so far (fenix 5 plus sapphire), and friends of mine (735xt, 935, 945, fenix 5 plus titanium, vivoactive 3) do the same, no problems so far. It is Garmin's Non-Warrant Return Material Authorization (RMA). I recently requested to do this for my Fenix 6X Pro Solar, and it costs $190. The tech will probably offer you 20% off as well. Not sure what it would cost for the Fenix 5 models, but probably comparable. If I can go through four watches (actually, I'm on watch #5 right now) and have the same issue with all of them, I have to assume that it's pretty common and you're probably right about it being a software issue. 67PZ.
