A year in our BMW 530d Touring – 20 January 2012. It wasn’t just our 5-series; Barry drove a 520d from Wales to the office and came back complaining too.
BMW’s award-winning 5 Series range has now been expanded with the introduction of the Business Edition model portfolio. Offered on 520d, 525d and 530d Saloon and Touring variants, and in SE and M Sport trims, the Business Edition specification represents a significant customer saving on a range of equipment normally offered as an option.
Location: UK. iTrader: ( 0) Based on my test drive, I'd say the G30 530d feels like it's half way between the 530d and 535d in the F10 range. The 0-62 numbers seem to back that up. It's neck-snappingly quick out of junctions if combined with xdrive, and feels effortless in most real world licence-preserving driving.
The 5 series continues to impress with its dynamic capabilities but a more contemporary face and tech laden cabin has made the car even more appealing than before. It starts at ₹ 62.90 lakh for the Petrol version while the 520d is priced at ₹ 63.90 lakh. Top of the line 530d will set you back by ₹ 71.90 lakh (all prices ex-showroom).
